Arsenal’s defender Laurent Koscielny could miss the World Cup due to alleged ruptured Achilles as he was carried off on a stretcher during a match against Atletico Madrid in the Europa League semi-final.
The French defender lost his footing as he maneuvered towards Diego Costa of Atletico Madrid. Koscielny was seen clutching his lower leg, his face in distress.
Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger fears that the aftermath will affect Koscielny for the worst, as he might not be able to participate in France national team in the upcoming 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The match ended in a 1-0 defeat for Arsenal at the Wanda Metropolitano.
