Visa-Free Entry to Russia during World Cup

For fans wanting to see their bets for FIFA World Cup 2018, here’s the good news. Russia’s government has approved a bill that allows foreign nationals to enter Russia without a visa. They will need to present a personalized spectator card, an official statement declared last December 2017.

According to the statement, “It is proposed to establish the same period for visa-free entry for the spectators of the championship on Russian territory [using] a personalized spectator card both in paper and electronic forms. This period will begin 10 days before the date of the first match of the championship and will end on the day of the last match of the championship.”

In addition to visa-free entry, the said bill will also cover free pass on train transport for approved members of the mass media. The members will need to present an identity document and accreditation card.

2018 FIFA World Cup

The concert hall at Moscow’s Kremlin State Palace became a memorable venue for the Final Draw for the 2018 World Cup. The event which happened on December 1, 2017 was hosted by football legend Gary Lineker of England Russian journalist Maria Komandnaya. Russian President Vladimir Putin together with prominent football players such as Pele, Didier Drogba, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Aleksandr Kerzhakov, and Peter Schmeichel attended the said event.

32 national teams were chosen in the said event. The teams were then divided into eight groups of four. The teams will battle out in the group matches in different stadiums and arenas located at Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Saransk, Sochi, Volgograd, and Yekaterinburg.

The opening game of World Cup 2018 will happen on June 14 between host country Russia and Saudi Arabia at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium.
