Patronato are now occupying one of the relegation spots following their 3-2 away defeat at direct contenders Central Cordoba. Mario Sciacqua’s men extended their winless run to eight league matches (three draws and five losses) to remain on 13 points in the Superliga rankings. With regard to the points average table, they are now five points from safety.
Godoy Cruz are clearly the worst team in the league. Last time out, they lost 2-1 at home to Independiente in spite of having taken the first lead. It was their second consecutive defeat and the eighth in their last nine games. El Tomba remain bottom in the Superliga table, accumulating only six points. To make matters worse, Godoy Cruz are yet to earn points on away turf, having lost all six matches. Godoy Cruz players Santiago Garcia and Roberto Ramirez received post-match bans against Independiente and are suspended, as is Tomas Cardona, who saw a red card in the same game.
Godoy Cruz are already bad enough and they will be worse without Cardona in defense and their top scorer Santiago Garcia due to suspensions, so I have to go with the hosts to get the points they really need.
