Two weeks ago, Colon had their away league game at Sarandi Arsenal postponed as they were involved in the Copa Sudamericana final, losing 3-1 to Ecuador’s Independiente del Valle. Beforehand, an alternative XI lost 2-0 to Atletico Tucuman to make it three defeats in four Superliga games (along with one win).
Estudiantes are improving week after week. In round 13, the team beat Talleres 1-0 thanks to a goal from winger Manuel Castro. As a result, El Pincha are unbeaten in the last five league matches, having won the last four. Following that run, the side climbed into seventh spot of the league table on 22 points, just three behind leaders. Estudiantes also won their last two away matches at Central Cordoba and Gimnasia LP.
Colon’s minds must still be at the super important final they lost last week while Estudiantes keeps improving and I think they won’t lose this game.
