Barracas Central is currently carrying out the best campaign in its history in the top category. Last Thursday, the team put in an impressive performance by beating newcomer Independiente Rivadavia 3-1 on the road. They therefore rose to second place in group A with 15 points as a result of a six-match unbeaten streak with four wins and two draws since losing to River Plate 2-0 in Lanús in the second round. Subsequently, they won both home games (played at the Huracán stadium).

After their heartbreaking defeat in the city derby, Independiente recovered well last Saturday. The team achieved a great 2-1 home victory over Argentinos Juniors after turning the score around to record three wins and a draw in their last five league games (along with just one loss).
