Talleres vs Union
After collecting only one point in two Superliga games, Talleres returned to winning ways last weekend after beating Godoy Cruz 5-0 away. They dominated the game from beginning to end and claimed a deserved win. Alexander Medina’s men have therefore accumulated 23 points and continue fighting for a continental ticket. The team produced a remarkable home campaign so far, with four victories, two draws and a single defeat.
Union Santa Fe beat Huracan 1-0 thanks to a strike from Walter Bou in the fifth minute of the game last Monday. That victory allowed them to break a four-match winless run of two draws and two consecutive losses. Leonardo Madelon’s men have climbed into 15th place in the Superliga table on 19 points. On away turf, they lost to Boca Juniors two weeks ago after three games unbeaten (two wins and one draw). Union Santa Fe left-back Claudio Corvalan collected his fifth yellow card against Huracan and is suspended. Centre back Jonathan Bottinelli misses out again due to a chest injury.
Union’s defensive missings should be a big problem for a Talleres that comes from their best performance and are a very strong home team so I’m going with the hosts here.
