Boca vs Gimnasia
Boca Juniors made it six league matches without defeat (one draw and five consecutive successes) after beating Colon 4-0 away from home thanks to a brilliant second half. The side accumulated 45 points and trail leaders River Plate by one, which means El Xeneize would lift their 34th league title if they win and the current leaders don’t. Boca is unbeaten in the last six home games in the Superliga, winning four and drawing two.
Gimnasia LP doesn’t give up on their fight to stay in the Superliga. Last weekend, the side managed their second consecutive league win by beating Atletico Tucuman 1-0 at home. Having collected 23 points this term, El Lobo remains to occupy one of the drop spots, but they keep their hope alive. Gimnasia won 1-0 at Independiente two weeks ago to stop a three-game winless run on the road in league action (two draws and one loss).
Boca Juniors must win and hope that River doesn’t win the championship, and I can’t see them having any trouble against this very poor Gimnasia that comes from consecutive wins but both very lucky.
