Copa Libertadores: Boca (Argentina) vs Libertad (Paraguay)

Boca Juniors managed to reach the round-of-16 following a 5-0 home victory over Alianza Lima from Peru in May, helped by Junior’s defeat at Palmeiras. El Xeneize is on six consecutive matches unbeaten, with three victories and three draws as they thrashed third-tier side Alvarado 6-0 in the Copa Argentina a week ago. At home, the side claimed nine victories and suffered just two losses in 2018.

Meanwhile, Libertad secured the first spot of their group after a 0-0 home draw with Atletico Tucuman. But they are living difficult times at the moment. Former coach Aldo Bobadilla aside, El Gumarelo earned just two points in the first four rounds of the Paraguayan league and remain bottom in the Torneo Clausura table. Libertad also registered a single win in their last five away games, and in this 4 league rounds, they’ve conceded 6 goals.

Boca’s strong attack got better in the offseason adding ex Lazio Mauro Zarate but they still can struggle in defense and while I expect them to win, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they concede so I expect goals here.
