Schalke 04 host Augsburg and on the face of it the results for either side have been far from impressive, however, in their digging a little deeper, it can be argued Augsburg have had a tough run of fixtures playing 4 of the top 5 and have performed ok in most of them. Last week they were beaten by a late Wolfsburg goal after having a goal disallowed by var and they probably deserved a point. Schalke, on the other hand, has scored just 2 goals in their last 8 games in the Bundesliga and they were dreadful again last week v Dortmund in the Revierderby losing 4-0 in the process. With the favourites for this match Schalke playing so poorly I believe it would appear to be an ask for them to give up a half goal lead on the handicap if Augsburg can score they should have a great chance of covering. The team news is positive as well for Augsburg with Schalke missing Harit, their most creative player, they are also without Todibo who started last week’s match as well and Mascarell, while Stambouli is a doubt. Augsburg are a better side than their league positions suggests, they are probably a side who are close to been rated a top-half side on the expected goals table and facing a side who have problems up top getting a half goal lead i can’t resist a bet on them.
