Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich
The biggest match in Germany takes place tomorrow, Der Klassiker is the name given to matches between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, it is 1st against 2nd in the league too and if Dortmund have any chance of winning the league you really feel they have to win this match and the pressure is on them to get the 3 points. In essence if Bayern need to avoid defeat it is difficult not to see them go on and win the Bundesliga this season. However Bayern really know one way of playing and that is all out attack, they are terrific to watch as are Dortmund too, and if Dortmund are pushing forward in numbers they could be exposed at the back, looking at the Expected goals Dortmund have scored nearly 21 goals more than they would have been expected too analysing their chances created. This is something you can look upon this in 2 different ways, first that they are super clinical finishers or 2nd they are hitting shots that more times would not go in and as a result they are getting some luck and maybe slightly overrated as a result, it is probably a bit of both to be fair. Bayern on the other hand have still scored 6 goals more than Dortmund and their expected goals come out about the same as the actual goals they have scored. Dortmund have 5 points more than what they would expect to have and with Bayern winning the reverse fixture 4-0 i think a case can be made for betting Bayern. The team news is negative for Dortmund with starting midfielder Witsel a doubt also his starting midfield partner Can has only played 45 minutes since the league was resumed and that was when he came on at half time for Hummels last Ssaturday v Wolfsburg. Hummels who is a key player went off injured on Saturday and even though he is not a doubt officially there must be a little question mark over his fitness, also out is Reus, Dortmund’s 2nd top scorer as well as starting defender Zagadou. Given all info i am betting Bayern Munich to get the win on the -0.5 line at 1.88+. I also think the results so far in the league post resumption also suggest that home advantage maybe even lower than first expected when games are being played closed doors which again if true is a positive for Bayern. I am also adding the goals for a bet too, if Bayern score first this could get pretty wild, in 8 of the last 10 matches between these sides 8 have gone over 3.5 goals and neither side under normal circumstances care too much for defending. I think both teams will score and this should be a really entertaining match between the 2 German heavyweights, their games average 4 and 3.97 goals per game and it also makes sense to bet the favourite and the overs in a match.
