Aside from him, coaching staff Miguel D’Agostino, Toni Jimenez, and Jesús Pérez also signed new contracts with Tottenham. All staff including Pochettino still had three years in their present contract, but agreed to extend for another two years.

The improved contracts were reported to have reached agreements in the middle of transfer budget and salary caps. On top of that, both manager and the club have the same philosophies in achieving success.

With the new opportunity, Pochettino expressed, “I am honoured to have signed a new long-term contract as we approach one of the most significant periods in the club’s history and be the manager that will lead this team into our new world-class stadium,” said the 46-year-old.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy also expressed his delight of an extended contract. The journey that the club has gone through was exciting and they are looking forward to best times ahead as they venture to the next phase with club’s manager still on their side.

“Mauricio has fostered an incredible spirit in the team and has embraced a style of play our fans have loved watching. I know they will welcome this commitment by Mauricio,” Levy stated.
