Nabil Fekir Being Chased by Liverpool before World Cup

Liverpool are doing their best to have Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir sign with them before he leaves for World Cup, as reported by Skysports.

No known agreement has taken place yet but Liverpool will push for finalization before Saturday.

Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas disagreed to the above statement and said that a close deal will not happen before the World Cup. He relayed to the French’s Club Official Website “Nothing has happened.”

“The whole thing will certainly not be completed during the World Cup, and I don’t think anything will change before it. We haven’t set a starting price because we haven’t discussed that yet,” the owner and chairman of the club said.

It was also confirmed by Fekir’s agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes, that Liverpool showed a great interest to Lyon’s midfielder. However, the deal is far from reality as of the moment.

The French agent expressed, “Talks with Liverpool will only happen when there is an agreement with Lyon and Jean-Michel Aulas gives the green light.”

“Liverpool’s interest exists, but for now nothing is done. The transfer window is long. Other clubs could show interest.”

This summer, Liverpool already signed Monaco’s defensive midfielder Fabinho for £43.7m, while central midfielder Naby Keita of RB Leipzig will be joining the team after a done deal last summer.
