Talleres vs Sporting Cristal
Talleres put up a good fight on their visit to Flamengo in matchweek two, but they couldn’t avoid a 3-1 away defeat. As a result, they remain on three points in group H, trailing second-placed Universidad Catolica by goal difference. Last Saturday, Pedro Caixinha’s men lost 3-1 away at Banfield to remain occupying the penultimate spot in the Copa Liga Profesional’s group A with only eight points in 12 matches. It was their fourth loss across the last five competitive games (along with a single win). However, Talleres won three of their last four at home, only losing to Defensa y Justicia with an alternative XI in that spell.
Sporting Cristal are yet to earn points in the 2022 Copa Libertadores following a controversial 2-1 away defeat at Universidad Catolica two weeks ago. Last Friday, the team managed to beat Cienciano 1-0 away, which allowed them to make it 18 points in ten games in league action, trailing leaders Sport Huancayo by four. El Cervecero are on two consecutive successes in all competitions, but they also lost three of their six road games in 2022, along with two wins and one draw.
Talleres is going through an awul season but I’ll give them a vote of confidence against this Sporting Cristal that has 0 points and are pretty much out of this competition.
