Independiente vs Gimnasia
Independiente centre back Juan Manuel Insaurralde scored in his debut at the club to give his team a hard-fought 1-0 away success at Patronato, which represented the first three points in the season for Julio Cesar Falcioni’s men. El Rojo won three of their last five league games, having lost the other two. On a sorry note, Independiente are on a negative streak of three consecutive home defeats in domestic action (to Boca Juniors, Sarandi Arsenal and Lanus).
Gimnasia LP confirmed the good impressions they had left in the league debut at Boca Juniors and celebrated a convincing 3-0 home win against Talleres last time out. El Lobo had a remarkable league start, taking four points from six on offer. In fact, they lost only one of their last five games, winning two and drawing two. On away turf, the team succumbed to a single defeat in their last six matches, having won three and drawn two of those.
Gimnasia is definitely more solid than this Independiente in rebuild mode and they should be able to get something from this game.
