Huracan vs San Lorenzo
Even though coach Diego Dabove decided to field a completely alternative XI, Huracan showed a worthy version in their last league game and secured a valuable 1-1 away stalemate at Colon. Therefore, the team continue producing a very good league campaign: accumulating 11 points in five matches, El Globo are trailing leaders San Lorenzo, Lanus, Talleres and Defensa y Justicia by just one. In fact, they succumbed to a single defeat in their last ten league matches, winning six and drawing three in that time.
San Lorenzo made it three consecutive successes in league action (without even conceding) last weekend, when they beat Union Santa Fe 1-0 at home, with Andres Vombergar scoring in the second half. El Ciclon accumulated 12 points in five rounds to become one of the leaders in the Liga Profesional table, alongside Talleres, Defensa y Justicia and Lanus. In fact, Ruben Insua’s men are experiencing great form in general terms, having won nine of their last 11 league games (along with one draw and one defeat).
Huracan advanced in Copa Libertadores after a good win midweek and they might be an overall better team, but this San Lorenzo is a tough rival. This is a huge derby for both as they have one of the biggest rivalries in the league, and it’s a derby that San Lorenzo usually dominates (they won almost 40 games more in the historic H2H) so I’m going with the visitors not to lose here.
