Estudiantes vs Atletico Tucuman
Estudiantes are finding their best form since coach Eduardo Dominguez’s arrival. Last Sunday, the team secured an important 2-1 away victory at Independiente thanks to goals from Jorge Rodriguez and Zaid Romero. Thanks to their second consecutive win in league action (and the third across four domestic matches under the new coach, along with a single defeat), El Pincha made it 14 points in the Liga Profesional table. At home, Estudiantes are on three domestic games unbeaten, having won two and lost one in that spell.
Atletico Tucuman are facing big trouble at the moment. Last time out, the team were shown two red cards and couldn’t stop San Lorenzo’s offensive power, losing 3-1 at home. That defeat means Lucas Pusineri’s men are on four league games without a win (drawing three and losing one), a streak that places them in the 27th spot of the league table on eight points, leading bottom-placed Union Santa Fe by one. To make matters worse, Atletico have been winless in their last eight away games, with three draws and five losses since beating Argentinos Juniors 2-1 in September. Captain Guillermo Acosta and striker Ignacio Maestro Puch were sent off against San Lorenzo and are suspended for Wednesday.
Two important missings for Atletico, Estudiantes is finally finding their best form and I expect them to win at home.
