Rosario Central vs Independiente
Rosario Central showed a great display of effort last Sunday, when they secured an important point following a scoreless away draw in the city derby at Newell’s Old Boys. El Canalla continue going through interesting form, having not lost any of their last four league matches (two victories and two stalemates). As a result, Miguel Russo’s men accumulated 18 points in the Liga Profesional, occupying fourth spot in the league table. Furthermore, Central are unbeaten in their last 11 home matches in domestic action, having won five and drawn six since losing to Banfield 1-0 in August.
Independiente’s crisis are getting deeper game after game. Last Sunday, the team showed another terrible performance and lost 2-1 to Estudiantes at home under interim coach Pedro Monzon. Therefore, El Rojo made it nine league matches without a win (six stalemates and three losses). With only nine points in ten matches, El Rojo are occupying 24th spot in the Liga Profesional table, just two above bottom-placed Union Santa Fe.
Independiente is a massive mess right now, not only results are terrible but also on Monday their president resigned and they are still under an interim coach, so Rosario Central should take advantage of them.
