Russia vs Spain

The hosts meet one of the favorites for the World Cup today in Spain at home in Moscow in what will hopefully be another super game in what has been a very good World Cup so far. Spain may feel on the short side in this match odds wise to some, they were superb in their draw vs Portugal but were lucky to beat Iran and needed a late goal with the help of VAR to get a draw vs Morocco.

Russia on the other hand have played well beating Saudi Arabia and Egypt, but it was their defeat by Uruguay that told us a lot about Russia. It was the first time they faced tough opposition and were badly found wanting, they were shown to be quite ordinary in fact and it is on this performance I think they are worth taking on. Spain only needed a point vs Morocco. They got it without playing well but you would imagine today they will step up on that and while Russia should give a very good account of themselves and I think they can actually score vs Spain. I believe this will be the end for the host nation in this World Cup. So with that in mind, I am betting Spain -0.75 and over 2.5 goals.
