Central Cordoba have slid into the relegation zone last time out when they failed to earn points on their visit to Lanus after losing 1-0. That result means the team haven’t found any victories in their last three games, drawing two and losing one. Gustavo Coleoni’s men earned five points in as many games so far. However, four of those points were claimed at Alfredo Terrera Stadium, having beaten Atletico Tucuman and drawn to Racing Club. Last Sunday, the side beat third-tier club Villa Mitre 2-1 and advanced to the Copa Argentina’s quarter-finals. Â
Defensa y Justicia is also living an irregular moment. In round five, El Halcon had to settle for a scoreless home draw against Banfield in an uneventful game. That means last Superliga’s runners-up have managed only one success this season, accumulating four points from 15 on offer. However, their only victory was claimed away from home (1-0 at Gimnasia LP), along with one defeat. Defensa y Justicia playmaker Neri Cardozo had to be replaced against Banfield last time out due to a muscle problem and will miss out. Â
So far Central Cordoba has been strong as expected at home and if they plan to stay in the top division it’s at their stadium where they will need to get most of their points. This odds are too high considering their rival is the very irregular and poor Defensa y Justicia.
