After their sorry start in the Superliga, Velez Sarsfield has now claimed four consecutive victories (winning 2-1 at River Plate last Sunday with Thiago Almada scoring the winner in the 83th minute). Therefore, Gabriel Heinze’s men climbed into the seventh spot of the league table on 13 points. El Fortin managed seven points from nine on offer at their own stadium thanks to two victories and one draw.
Defensa y Justicia saw their three-match unbeaten run of two victories and one draw in the Superliga coming to an end last weekend when the side lost to Huracan 1-0 at home in an even game. Last league runners-up are now performing an irregular campaign with seven points in as many games. On a positive note though, El Halcon won their last two away matches at Gimnasia LP and Central Cordoba.
Velez has scored in 6 of their 7 league games and their offence is their best strength, but Defensa has improved lately and can put them in trouble, so I ‘m going with the OVER here.
