Independiente vs Talleres
Sebastian Palacios’ strike in the second half gave Independiente a much-needed 1-0 away win at Atletico Tucuman last Sunday as coach Sebastian Beccacece’s job was in danger before the game. El Rojo returned to winning ways after two league games (one draw, one defeat) to reach ten points in the table with one game in hand. At home, they collected four points from six on offer so far.
Talleres extended their unbeaten streak in the Superliga to five matches (and four successes in a row) last Monday, when beating Gimnasia LP 2-1 at home thanks to a penalty netted by Dayro Moreno in the 78th minute. The team managed 16 points from 21 available, only one behind leaders Boca Juniors. On away turf, they won their last two games at River Plate at Banfield, having lost to Rosario Central in week two.
Can’t see Independiente as favorites as the odds say considering how poor they’ve been playing so far this season, so I’m going with Talleres to get something from this game.
