Talleres vs Lanus
Talleres succumbed to their second consecutive league defeat after losing at Atletico Tucuman in one of their worst matches since coach Alexander Medina’s arrival. A few days later, they lost to second-tier side Almagro 1-0 in the Copa Argentina’s round-of-16. However, the side remain producing a remarkable campaign as they are sitting in sixth spot of the Superliga table on 16 points. Talleres also have been almost perfect at Mario Alberto Kempes Stadium, earning ten points from 12 on offer as a product of three wins and one draw.
Lanus’ fans will have felt sorry after the team’s 1-1 home draw with Rosario Central. However, the side climbed into the top five in the rankings on 16 points following their seven Superliga matches without defeat (having won four and drawn three). They also opened an eight-point gap over the relegation zone. On away turf, El Granate have been irregular so far, accumulating five points in four travels.
8 out of 9 Lanus games this season had at least 2 goals, same for Talleres in 4 of their last 5 games, and their last 3 meetings produced an average of over 4 goals, so I definitely have to go with the OVER here.
