San Lorenzo lost six of their last seven Superliga matches (including the last four) following their 2-1 away defeat at Independiente last weekend, when Diego Monarriz took over the reins as interim boss. El Ciclon remain on 16 points and their fans are now worried about next season’s relegation table. To make matters worse, San Lorenzo lost their last three home matches to Boca Juniors, Central Cordoba and Defensa y Justicia. San Lorenzo centre back Fabricio Coloccini saw a red card at Independiente last time out and is suspended.
Argentinos Juniors had to settle for a scoreless stalemate at Defensa y Justicia in an uneventful game last Monday. The team, who started this season threatened by relegation, have performed greatly so far and are now league leaders on 25 points. In addition, El Bicho are unbeaten in their last four league games, collecting ten points in that span. On away turf, they registered two successes, three draws and one defeat.
San Lorenzo has been nothing but a disaster lately, specially in defense as they’ve conceded 16 goals in their last 8 matches and it won’t get any better today without Frabrizio Coloccini, so I have to go with the OVER here.
