Newell’s Old Boys returned to one of the drop spots following their first defeat in the Superliga (3-1 away at Velez Sarsfield). Regarding the points average table, La Lepra is two points behind Patronato and Rosario Central, who are sharing the final relegation place. With one game in hand, Newell’s accumulate six points in the league table and all of those points were claimed at Marcelo Bielsa Stadium, where the team beat Central Cordoba and Union Santa Fe.
Huracan has been irregular in the league so far. Last Monday, the team produced a poor performance and had to settle for a 0-0 home draw with Argentinos Juniors in a boring game. Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s men earned five points in four weeks, having claimed a single victory. To make matters worse, El Globo managed only one point on the road, having drawn to Boca Juniors and lost to Patronato.
Despite last week’s defeat, Newell’s is in an uprising moment and especially at home where they are a strong team. Huracan will just struggle all season as they have a poor squad and I think they will leave this game empty-handed.
