Independiente shared points with Boca Juniors after a boring 0-0 away stalemate last weekend. That means El Rojo are winless in their last five Superliga matches, earning only two points in that spell. Therefore, the side is now languishing in 16th spot of the league table on 22 points. To make matters worse, Independiente lost their last three home matches. Independiente midfielder Pablo Perez saw a red card at Boca Juniors and is suspended.
Thanks to a goal from Fabian Rinaudo in stoppage time, Rosario Central extended their unbeaten run to six league matches (five victories and one draw) after beating Huracan 2-1 at home. The team climbed into the last Copa Libertadores spot on 29 points and seem to have left behind the relegation threats. Central collected 11 away points this term following two successes, five draws and a single defeat.
Independiente is not a reliable team at the moment and missing Pablo Perez could be a problem for them, so I’m going with the visitors to get something out of this game.
