Gimnasia LP celebrated their first victory in the whole season last time out, when beating Godoy Cruz 4-2 on away turf with Victor Ayala netting a brace. El Lobo reached four points to leave the bottom place of the league table after leapfrogging their opponents, but that is not enough to climb out of the relegation zone: they trail Patronato and Rosario Central, who are level in the final drop spot, by 11 points.
Union Santa Fe seem to be improving. Nicolas Mazzola’s strike allowed the team to claim a highly-celebrated 1-0 home win over arch-rivals Colon, which means they are on three league matches unbeaten (two wins and one draw). Their campaign is still below the fans’ expectations as El Tatengue are in 15th spot on 11 points, but they also won their last away game at Aldosivi after four winless games on the road (one stalemate and three defeats).
Gimnasia finally won a game and even though they are still a major relegation candidate, it has to be a starting point if they want to stay in the top flight. They have less points than what they deserve, and I think this odds at home are huge and definitely a bet to be taken.
