Boca Juniors managed a valuable away point at Velez Sarsfield after drawing 0-0 in an uneventful match. As a result, El Xeneize are handling their recent poor form (they collected four points from the last 12) in a good way as the team returned to the top of the league table (alongside Lanus and Argentinos Juniors) on 25 points. At La Bombonera Stadium, they earned 11 of those points, with three successes, two draws and one defeat. Boca Juniors star player Carlos Tevez returns after overcoming his muscle issues.
Union Santa Fe saw their six-game unbeaten run (three victories and three draws) coming to an end last time out, when they succumbed to a 1-0 home defeat against Atletico Tucuman. Even though they have improved, El Tatengue’s campaign has been irregular so far and they are languishing in 16th place on 16 points. Seven of those have been claimed in the last three league travels as they beat Aldosivi and Gimnasia LP and drew to Banfield. Union Santa Fe centre backs Yeimar Gomez Andrade and Jonathan Bottinelli are suspended. Gomez Andrade saw his fifth yellow card and Bottinelli was sent off against Atletico Tucuman.Â
Union won’t have their top two defenders due to suspensions so I have to go with Boca to win comfortably here.
