Patronato secured a valuable point on their visit to Belgrano following a 2-2 away draw last Friday. The team were 2-0 behind at one point, but striker Sebastian Ribas netted a brace to equalise and he also became the league topscorer with 11 goals. Patronato are close to clinching their place in the Superliga for next season, having accumulated 24 points this term. At home, Juan Pablo Pumpido’s squad earned seven points in the last three games.
Meanwhile, River Plate continue to find trouble in the Superliga. Next Wednesday River is playing the Supercopa Argentina against their all time rivals Boca, and considering how bad they are doing in the league, winning that final is all they want now so their minds might not be 1000% focused on this game.
