Independiente vs Gimnasia

Independiente stay as the best away side in the league after beating Newell’s Old Boys 1-0 last Saturday, with Gaston Silva scoring the winner in the first half. It was their third victory in four league matches, which allows them to reach 45 points, and they are in 6th place, one below the last Copa Libertadores spot.

On Wednesday, they visited Brazil’s Corinthians in the Copa Libertadores, winning 2-1 and putting themselves in a perfect position to advance to the Round of 16.

Gimnasia LP’s home match against Boca Juniors last week was been suspended due to heavy rain and it will be played next Wednesday.
