Racing Club reversed the score to beat Estudiantes de Merida 2-1 away thanks to goals from Nicolas Reniero and Matias Zaracho. On Monday, they also won 2-1 at Estudiantes to climb into the fourth spot of the Superliga table on 39 points. La Academia is unbeaten in 2020 in all competitions, with four victories and four draws. At home, Racing hasn’t lost any on their last nine games, registering five successes and four draws since they were beaten by River Plate 6-1 in August 2019.
Alianza Lima had a sorry debut in the Copa Libertadores last Thursday when they ended up losing to Nacional from Uruguay 1-0 at home. On Sunday, the team also lost 2-0 the derby with Universitario away from home. They collected only seven points in six rounds, which resulted in coach Pablo Bengoechea’s resignation after the last game. The team lost three of their last four games in all competitions, only beating Deportivo Municipal in that time. Alianza also is winless in five away matches (two draws and three defeats).
Racing Club should be able to claim an easy home win here.
