Internacional striker Paolo Guerrero gave his team a valuable 1-0 away win at Nacional in stoppage time after a hard-fought clash in Montevideo. That means O Colorado would advance to the quarter-finals if they avoid the defeat at home. Last Saturday, the alternative XI managed to beat Ceara 1-0 at home, which means Inter remain occupying the last Copa Libertadores spot (sixth) on 20 points. The team are on four matches unbeaten in all competitions, winning three and drawing one. At home, they haven’t lost any of the last 13 (ten successes and three draws since losing to Novo Hamburgo 1-0 in March).
Nacional will face a hard task on Wednesday after losing 1-0 at home to Internacional in spite of having put up a good fight. They will need to win in Brazil to have chances of advancing in the Copa Libertadores. Most of the regulars rested last Saturday, when El Bolso beat Progreso 4-2 at home to make it six points in three rounds of the Torneo Intermedio, with two victories and a single defeat. Nacional are now on six matches unbeaten on away turf, winning three and drawing three.
Nacional could be tough to beat, but I think Internacional should extend their impressive home run. Home win.
