Boca vs Argentinos Juniors
Boca Juniors will need to win at home if they want to reach the Superliga Cup’s final following their 0-0 draw at Argentinos Juniors in a hard-fought game last Sunday. After that result, Gustavo Alfaro’s men are on 11 competitive matches unbeaten (five wins and six draws in regular time), but their last three games ended scorelessly. Boca hasn’t lost any of their last seven home matches, winning six and beating Velez Sarsfield on penalties after a 0-0 tie.
Argentinos Juniors put up a good fight against Boca Juniors last weekend and they are still alive in the Superliga Cup after that scoreless draw at home. Last Thursday, coach Diego Dabove rotated his players but the team still were able to claim a 1-0 home win over Deportes Tolima from Colombia in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana’s round-of-32. That means El Bicho lost only one of their last nine games in all competitions (four victories, four draws).
Boca hasn’t been performing great lately but I see this as a good chance for them to finally step up. Argentinos will miss Batallini and Vera two important attacking players and they are not the same team playing away.
