Argentinos Juniors’ three-game winning streak has been stopped last Friday, when they lost to Huracan 1-0. In an intense game, they had the better chances, but Argentinos eventually conceded ten minutes from time and returned home empty-handed. Alfredo Berti’s men remain sitting in a Copa Sudamericana spot on 36 points while they also have been unbeaten in the last seven home matches, having won five of them.
After five years in the top flight, Olimpo’s return to Argentina’s second division has been settled. Last Saturday, they lost to San Martin SJ 2-0 at home, which left them without chances of staying in the Superliga. Christian Bassedas’ men remain bottom on 13 points, having earned just one in their last six matches. El Aurinegro also are on seven consecutive defeats on away turf and they’ve lost 10 of the last 12 matches overall.
