Velez Sarsfield vs San Lorenzo
Velez Sarsfield is the worst away side in the league following a 3-2 loss at Defensa y Justicia last Monday in a thrilling game, even though young midfielder Thiago Almada netted his first two goals as a professional footballer. However, Velez Sarsfield is producing a decent campaign in general terms with 17 points in eighth as it all changes when they play at Jose Amalfitani Stadium: El Fortin booked five wins and one draw.
San Lorenzo is experiencing trouble this season. Last weekend, the team suffered their second consecutive league defeat (and the third in the last four matches in the Superliga) when losing to Talleres 1-0 at home, under interim boss Diego Monarriz. El Ciclon accumulated only ten points with a game in hand, which is a very poor campaign for one of the big five. Away from Pedro Bidegain Stadium, San Lorenzo managed two points from 15 available, having lost their last three games.
San Lorenzo has conceded at least one goal in 17 consecutive games, and although they will have the debut of new coach Jorge Almiron, I don’t think he can fix this issues in just a few training sessions so I expect goals here.
