Velez vs Belgrano

With striker Jonathan Ramis scoring the only goal and winner in the second half, Velez Sarsfield showed their home strength by beating Gimnasia LP 1-0 at Jose Amalfitani Stadium last time out. Gabriel Heinze’s men managed to recover from their heartbreaking loss at relegation candidates San Martin SJ in the previous round and secured a deserved win to reach 14 points in the league table. Velez is the best home side so far, with four successes and a draw.

Belgrano wasted a good opportunity to climb out of the drop zone in their most recent league outing following a 1-1 home draw with Banfield in coach Diego Osella’s debut. After leading 1-0 for the entire second half, the hosts conceded the equaliser in the 95th minute. El Pirata’s winless run has now been extended to six league matches, with three draws and three defeats. Belgrano has grabbed just eight points so far and they are also occupying the final relegation spot, but are level on points with San Martin SJ, who is safe. Away from Cordoba, Belgrano have managed only two points from 12 on offer, having lost the last two away league games

Belgrano has conceded at least a goal in 6 of their last 7 games and they are visiting one of the best home teams this season, so I like the chance of seeing goals here.
