San Martín de Tucumán VS Belgrano

San Martin de Tucuman vs Belgrano

San Martin Tucuman is now bottom in the relegation table following their 3-2 away defeat at Godoy Cruz in a thrilling game. They were close to earning a point but had to return home empty-handed after conceding in the 76th minute. El Ciruja extended their winless run to four games (one draw, three defeats) and remain on 17 points. At home, they managed a single point from the last nine available, but San Martin was unbeaten before that run.

Belgrano is also occupying one of the drop places (three points from safety) after a 1-1 draw against Boca Juniors at home. Federico Lertora’s goal to level the score was highly-celebrated, but stalemates don’t count so much for El Pirata at the moment. After seven winless games in the Superliga (four ties, three defeats), the team are 25th in the league table on 15 points. Belgrano are yet to win on the road, having collected four points in eight travels.

A relegation clash between two sides in crisis can be hard to predict but I’m going with a home win. San Martin should regain their confidence in front of their own crowd against poor travellers Belgrano who have recently lost their best player, Matias Suarez, who was sold to River Plate.
