San Lorenzo vs Talleres
San Lorenzo succumbed to their third consecutive away defeat last Sunday, when they couldn’t hold onto a 1-0 lead and ended up losing at leaders Racing Club 2-1. Therefore, Claudio Biaggio’s men remain on ten points with a game in hand, which is a poor campaign for one of the big five. However, they are still unbeaten at home (two victories, two draws), having won the last two over Patronato and San Martin SJ. On Wednesday, San Lorenzo drew 1-1 against Temperley in the Copa Argentina, lost on the penalties shootout and was knocked out. After that game coach Claudio Biaggio left the club, so in this game, they will be under interim coach Diego Monarriz.
Talleres managed a single win in the last six Superliga matches (two draws, three defeats) following a disappointing scoreless home stalemate with San Martin Tucuman last time out. After ending the last term in fifth, the team from Cordoba are now playing below the fans’ expectations and they accumulated only 11 points so far. To make matters worse, Talleres grabbed only three points from 15 available on the road, having lost their last three away games.
San Lorenzo has conceded at least one goal in the last 16 games and there’s no reason to think they will get any better this fast so I have to take the short goals line.
