Patronato vs Talleres de Cordoba

Patronato remains bottom on a single point in the league table after their fifth consecutive defeat (3-2 at San Lorenzo). Under interim boss Martin De Leon, the side were able to net their first goals this season, but that was not enough to secure points against a young squad. El Patron is still occupying one of the relegation spots, five behind Belgrano who are safe. At home, they drew with Colon in round one and lost to Racing Club and Gimnasia LP.

Talleres de Cordoba had to settle for a 1-1 home draw with Velez Sarsfield last weekend, in an even game. Young winger Nahuel Bustos netted his first goal as a professional footballer, but the team weren’t able to hold that lead. Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s men are now on seven points, having won two of the six games played. Away from home, they beat Gimnasia LP in round three and lost to Boca Juniors and Union Santa Fe.

Patronato needs points ASAP or they will be relegated before they know. Finally last week they scored the 1st goals of the season so that bad run is over, and now they have no choice but to keep attacking because soon draws won’t be enough. I expect an open game and the odds for goals are huge.
