Patronato suffered a heavy blow last weekend when losing 3-0 at Belgrano in a relegation clash. That defeat placed them level with their last rivals and San Martin SJ in the point-average table, with only two other teams below. Mario Sciacqua’s men are on 20 points in the Superliga table, having claimed a single victory in their last five league matches, along with one draw and three defeats. However, they are on six home games unbeaten, having won three of them.
Defensa y Justicia will participate in the Copa Libertadores in 2020 for the first time in the club’s history following a dramatic 3-2 home success over Banfield, with striker Nicolas Fernandez scoring a hat-trick. Having won eight of the last nine matches in the Superliga (with one defeat in the process), El Halcon is still second-placed on 51 points, four behind Racing Club with one game less played and both teams will clash in the last round. Defensa holds the best away record in the league, having managed four wins in a row and 27 points from 33 available.
Neither can afford to lose, Patronato due to their huge relegation issues and Defensa because they would end far from the leader Racing, so one goal here should definitely open things up and I have to go with the over.
