Argentinos Jrs vs Godoy Cruz

Argentinos Juniors keep sitting in a Copa Sudamericana spots on their return to Argentina’s top flight following a scoreless draw at Lanus in an uneventful game last Saturday. El Bicho claimed 13 points from the last 18 available to reach 40 during the whole season, which allows them to occupy the ninth place of the table. Argentinos are on eight home games without defeat, having won six of them (including the last four).

Godoy Cruz have secured their fourth Copa Libertadores’ ticket after a celebrated 2-0 home success in Cuyo Derby over San Martin SJ. El Tomba stay second-placed in the Superliga on 50 points after eight matches without defeat (including seven wins). They are 3 points behind Boca but with one more game played with only 2 rounds left, so only a win is useful for them as any other result combined with a Boca win on Sunday would mean that the championship is decided.

Argentinos Juniors scored at least twice in six of their last eight home matches while Godoy Cruz scored 13 goals in their last five both home and away (averaging 2,6). I fancy a high-scoring game so I’m going for the OVER.

Talleres vs Huracan

Talleres have been displaced from the Copa Libertadores places as they lost 3-0 at Union Santa Fe on Monday, which was their third consecutive defeat on away turf. The team from Cordoba are deflating their performances during last weeks, having suffered four losses in their last five matches. Therefore, they are in sixth on 44 points.

However, Frank Kudelka’s men won six of the seven home games in 2018, just losing to Independiente. Huracan climbed into fourth spot of the league table following a 3-2 home win over Atletico Tucuman in a thrilling game. That result means El Globo accumulated 46 points and ten matches without defeat (having won the last four). As a result, the side depend on themselves to qualify for the next Copa Libertadores.

With only two games left this is definitely a must win for Talleres if they want to get a Copa Libertadores spot, and while for Huracan a draw could be enough, next week they have to play at home against Boca so if they can get the 3 points in this match they would secure that Libertadores place and wouldn’t have to worry about next week’s more difficult game. With draw not really being an option for either team, I think this could be an open game with goals.

Atletico Tucuman vs Olimpo

Atletico Tucuman’s five-match unbeaten run in the Superliga came to an end as the side were defeated at Huracan 3-2 after Ricardo Zielinski’s decision to rotate his players ahead of the continental commitments. El Decano remain on 34 points and will need to win both remaining games to keep a chance of clinching a Copa Sudamericana ticket.

Atletico also are on five league matches without a win at their own stadium, having drawn four of them. On Wednesday, they won 1-0 against Uruguay’s Penarol at home in the Copa Libertadores putting them in a very good position to advance to the Round of 16 for the first time ever.

Olimpo remain bottom in the league table on just 13 points, having suffered their fourth consecutive defeat last Monday, when they were thrashed by Tigre 5-1 at home. After that defeat their coach resigned and the team reached eight games without a win (earning a single point in that spell) and are already relegated since a few weeks ago.

Olimpo also lost their last eight matches on away turf since beating Lanus 2-0 in November. There are no doubts that Olimpo just wants this season to end ASAP, so even if Atletico might not have any real motivation, saying goodbye in the season to their fans with a good result should be enough for them to get an easy win against a super weak rival.
