Defensa y Justicia vs Rosario Central
Defensa y Justicia kept their Copa Sudamericana berth following their third consecutive victory over one of the Argentine giants: on Monday, they beat Independiente 1-0 away in an intense game with Mariano Bareiro netting the winner in the 57th minute. Defensa are now tenth-placed on 38 points. At home, they collected 19 of those points as a product of five victories, four draws and three losses.
Rosario Central made it three defeats in their last four league matches following a 2-0 home loss to Racing Club last Sunday. The team are almost out of chances to qualify for the next Copa Sudamericana as they deflated their performance in the last weeks. Central remain on 31 points, sitting in 17th. El Canalla are also on four games without a win away from Rosario, having lost the last two.
Without any doubts Defensa y the more motivated team here, on a good run and with a real goal for this last 3 rounds.

 Huracan vs Atletico Tucuman
Huracan climbed into the last Copa Libertadores spot as they beat Tigre 2-0 on away turf last Sunday thanks to goals from Nicolas Silva and Carlos Araujo in the first half. Gustavo Alfaro’s men are now on 43 points after nine matches unbeaten, having claimed three victories in a row. Four of those games took place at the Tomas Adolfo Duco Stadium, with two victories and two draws.
Meanwhile, Atletico Tucuman drew with Union Santa Fe 0-0, which was their fifth consecutive home game without a win.
After an uneventful match, they are on 34 points and failed to move closer the last Copa Sudamericana spot, occupied by Colon on 37.
On Wednesday, they won 3-0 against Bolivia’s The Strongest in the Copa Libertadores and next Wednesday they host Uruguayan giants Peñarol in a Copa Libertadores game they just can’t lose if they want to advance to the next stage. Because of this they are going to visit Huracan with a reserves lineup, resting many regulars who didn’t even travel to Buenos Aires.

Gimnasia vs Boca
Gimnasia LP’s crisis seem to be endless. Last Saturday, the side succumbed to their sixth consecutive defeat in the Superliga as they lost at Talleres 2-0. The team are getting worse week after week and coach Facundo Sava had to leave the club after the game. With 22 points in the league table, Gimnasia should be highly worried about next season’s relegation table. Three of those losses were at home, to Banfield, Argentinos Juniors and Atletico Tucuman.
Boca Juniors put an end to their mini crisis (which included two consecutive defeats in the Superliga) by beating Newell’s Old Boys 3-1 on Sunday, with striker Ramon Abila netting a brace.
On Wednesday, Boca hosted Brazilian side Palmeiras, losing 0-2 what means that next Wednesday they just can’t lose at Colombia when they visit Junior or they will be eliminated.
Despite this important game, Boca wants to secure the league championship and will play against Gimnasia with a good lineup using most of their starters. They can’t win the championship this weekend because Godoy Cruz won on Friday, but if they get the 3 points they will be 6 ahead of them with only 2 rounds left.
Boca Juniors are better than Gimnasia by far and should have enough to celebrate a solid victory in La Plata.
