Lanus vs San Martin de San Juan
Lanus is going through a remarkable run. The team made it six wins in the last seven league matches after beating San Martin Tucuman 2-1 away, with Jose Sand and Lautaro Acosta scoring. El Granate is now approaching the Copa Sudamericana spots as they accumulated 30 points, having claimed 23 of those in the last ten rounds. Lanus also are on five home successes in a row.
San Martin SJ has slid into the relegation zone following their scoreless draw against Godoy Cruz at home in last weekend’s Cuyo Derby. They were close to winning the game, but Luis Ardente missed a penalty in the second half. El Verdinegro is on 20 points in the league table, having not won any of their last four games (two draws, two losses). Ruben Forestello’s men managed a single point in their last five travels since beating Gimnasia LP 1-0 in late November.
Lanus are strong at the moment, especially at home. In spite of having to handle two important absences, I think they will be able to claim three points at home.
