Gimnasia vs Defensa y Justicia

Gimnasia LP continues to edge closer to the relegation zone. Last time out, Pedro Troglio’s men were dominated from beginning to end and suffered a 2-0 away defeat at Lanus. That was their sixth loss in the last eight games in the Superliga (along with one win and one draw). Having accumulated only 18 points this term, El Lobo is just five points above the drop zone. Defensa y Justicia is now level on 42 points with Racing Club at the top of the Superliga table following a thrilling 2-1 home success over Argentinos Juniors last Monday, with Alexis Castro scoring the winner in the 95th minute. After their fifth consecutive league victory, El Halcon is the only team who remain unbeaten. Furthermore, they hold the best away record in Argentinian top flight, with six victories and three draws away from Florencio Varela.

Defensa y Justicia seems unstoppable at the moment while Gimnasia can’t afford to lose, I expect an open game here where one goal will make the other team really go for it, so I like the short totals line.
