Defensa y Justicia vs Argentinos Jrs

Defensa y Justicia doesn’t give up the fight for their first league title. Last weekend, they turned the result around in the last ten minutes to beat San Martin Tucuman 2-1 away. It was the team’s fourth consecutive win in the Superliga and the team are still unbeaten in the whole season, sitting in second with 39 points (three behind Racing Club). At home, Defensa collected 18 points in eight games, having won the last three. Last Wednesday, they visited Botafogo in Brazil in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana’s first round, losing 1-0 in the last minute of the game (2nd leg at Buenos Aires is next week).

Argentinos Juniors are yet to improve under recently-appointed coach Diego Dabove. Last time out, the side had to settle for a scoreless draw with Belgrano at home in spite of playing against ten men during 65 minutes. El Bicho remains bottom in the league table on 11 points after collecting only two in the last four games. Therefore, they are still threatened by relegation. Argentinos claimed a single win on the road this season, along with three draws and four defeats.

Defensa y Justicia seem unstoppable at the moment and even though they could be a bit tired after the midweek heartbreaker defeat in the last minute at Brazil, Argentinos is one of the worst sides in the league so this should be a home win.
