Union – Aldosivi
Unión Santa Fe rescued a valuable point last Friday, holding Banfield to a goalless draw to extend their unbeaten run in the league to six matches (three wins and three draws). With that result, El Tatengue reached 17 points in the Torneo Clausura, staying as group A leaders and practically assuring a playoff berth. Unión are also unbeaten in their last seven home league matches, with two wins and five draws in that spell. Striker Marcelo Estigarribia succumbed to a muscle problem and will miss out. Lucas Gamba will take his spot.
Aldosivi took another step toward relegation last Saturday, once again putting on a very poor display and falling 2-0 at home to Argentinos Juniors. El Tiburón remain the worst team in the Torneo Clausura with just three points, the result of three draws and seven defeats, having scored only one goal in ten matches. As a result, they sit at the bottom of both the aggregate table and the point-average standings. In addition, Aldosivi have lost five consecutive away matches.
Aldosivi are bound to get relegated because they just can’t get the points they need to get away from the bottom of the annual table. Union didn’t look good last weekend but they are still leaders of Group A and a game at home against the worst team of the league has to be a win for them.
