Argentinos Jrs – Central Cordoba
Argentinos Juniors seem to be getting back on track. Last Saturday, the team did not show their best version but were clinical, defeating Aldosivi 2-0 away from home. With their second straight league victory, El Bicho reached 14 points in the Torneo Clausura, climbing back into the playoff zone and also into qualification spots for the next Copa Libertadores. In addition, Argentinos are unbeaten in their last nine home matches (seven wins and two draws). Aside from the long-term injury to Matías Giménez, the rest of the regular starters are available for Friday.
CA Central Córdoba had a rough night last Friday, suffering an unexpected 1-0 home defeat to Tigre. With that result, they extended their winless run in the league to three matches (one draw and two losses). However, with 14 points, they remain inside the playoff spots in Group A. El Ferroviario have collected seven of those points on the road, with one win, four draws, and one loss.
Argentinos are finally looking like the team they were a few months ago after two consecutive wins where they’ve shown some good football. Central Cordoba is the opposite, losing 3 of the last 4 and the other one was a very lucky 2-2 draw at Boca, so I’ll go with the hosts here to continue their good run.
