Tigre vs Boca
Tigre are facing a terrible start in the Copa Liga Profesional. Last Wednesday, they were dominated from beginning to end and couldn’t avoid a 3-0 away defeat to Racing Club. Nestor Gorosito’s men managed a single point in two rounds so far without even scoring. In fact, El Matador made it four without a win in league action (two stalemates and two defeats). At home, Tigre won only one of the last eight, drawing five and losing two in that spell. Coach Nestor Gorosito has all his regulars at his disposal for Monday. Gonzalo Maroni could start instead of Tomas Galvan in the only expected change.
Boca Juniors fans will have felt frustrated after an unexpected 1-1 home stalemate against Sarmiento at San Lorenzo last Thursday. As a result, El Xeneize made it two points in as many matches in the Copa Liga Profesional. They are without defeat in the last six in league action, but only won two and drew four in that time. Boca took just five points in their last five away games, winning one, drawing two and losing two. Edinson Cavani had to be replaced against Sarmiento due to a muscle problem and will miss out.
I’m going to give Boca here a vote of confidence even though they’ve been unreliable lately. They should have beaten Sarmiento mid week but missed too many chances and considering Edinson Cavani’s poor form it could be even good news that he’s injured and won’t play today. Tigre was awful against Racing and I don’t think they have enough to win here.
