Tigre – Huracan

Thanks to a penalty netted by Mateo Retegui in the 95th minute, Tigre took a valuable point on their visit to Independiente following a 1-1 away draw last Saturday. The newcomers continue producing a remarkable campaign, having taken 16 points, which allows them to remain occupying one of the playoff spots in group B. El Matador are on three league games unbeaten, winning two and drawing one. In fact, they succumbed to a single defeat this term, with four victories and four stalemates so far. At home, Tigre are on 12 matches unbeaten, having won eight and drawn four in that time.

Meanwhile, Huracan’s winless streak has been extended to four league matches (two draws and two defeats) last Monday, when the team lost 2-1 at home to Barracas Central despite having taken the first lead. As a result, El Globo remain on 11 points in group B and are now five points below the last qualifying berth, occupied by Boca Juniors. On away turf, Frank Kudelka’s men collected five points from 12 on offer as a product of one victory, two stalemates and one defeat.

Tigre are in good form, very confident, and I think they should take this one at home.
