Tigre – Central Cordoba
Tigre experienced a promising return after the Copa America break. Last Thursday, the team secured a massive 2-0 away success at Argentinos Juniors, with Blas Armoa and Nahuel Banegas scoring. El Matador put an end to their 11-match winless streak of two stalemates and nine losses and made it five points in six Liga Profesional rounds. They remain bottom in the aggregate table, but now just one point behind CA Central Cordoba.
CA Central Cordoba are getting worse match after match. Last Sunday, the team succumbed to another defeat in league action, losing to Platense 2-0 at home following a worrying performance. El Ferroviario remain pointless after six rounds, sitting bottom in the Liga Profesional table. In fact, the side made it 11 league matches without a win, drawing three and losing eight, which leaves Lucas Gonzalez’s men just one point above bottom-placed Tigre in the aggregate rankings. Central managed a single point from the last 15 available as the visiting side.
Massive game for both as they are only separated by one point at the bottom of the aggregate table where the last placed team will get relegated at the end of this year. Tigre looked good in their win at Argentinos while Central Cordoba has been just terrible, not only losing the first 6 games of the tournament but also conceding 17 goals, almost 3 per game. I’m going to trust Tigre to win here and finally leave the last place.
