Tigre – Arsenal

Tigre put up a good fight at group leaders Estudiantes last Tuesday, but they ended up suffering a 2-1 away defeat. Therefore, their four-match unbeaten streak of three victories and one draw in league action has been broken. However, El Matador are producing a remarkable campaign on their return to the top flight and remain occupying one of the playoff spots in group B, accumulating 19 points and holding a four-point gap over fifth-placed Colon.

Sarandi Arsenal succumbed to a heartbreaking 1-0 home defeat to Barracas Central last Tuesday in a six-pointer regarding relegation. As a result, the team are now two points above the first drop spot in the respective table (occupied by Godoy Cruz) following a poor campaign. Leonardo Madelon’s men earned only ten points in 11 matches in the Copa Liga Profesional, having not won any of the last eight (six draws and two losses). Furthermore, Arsenal are on 18 away games without a win in league action, drawing six and losing 12 in that spell.

Tigre will pretty much secure a playoff spot with a win here and I can’t imagine they will waste this chance against the poor Arsenal that has been awful playing away.
